ENGLISH LANGUAGE DAY OBSERVED AT LAMDON SCHOOL LEH...

Language plays an essential role in our lives as it helps in communication. As such it becomes extremely important for students to learn as many languages as possible. By learning a foreign language, students understand ideas and thoughts that may be different from their culture and traditions. One of the most important language that is being taught to students right from day one of their school is English Language as it is a language that is widely used in almost every country. It is the main language for studying any subject all over the world.

The International English Language day is observed on the 23rd of April every year. It is the date traditionally observed as both the birthday and date of death of William Shakespeare who was regarded as one of the greatest writers, poet and dramatist, who left an indelible impact on English language with his insurmountable contribution to the field of literature, playing the key role in popularising the language.

Like the rest of the world, we at Lamdon Model Senior Secondary School celebrated this eventful day to entertain and inform students about the history, culture and achievements associated with English Language and the achievements of the innumerable writers, poets and playwrights. Students took part in Soliloquy, Poem recitation, Skit play and many others which were all educative as well as interesting. Some extraordinary performances by the students added more colours to the celebration.

The event ended with words of advice from the Principal and the Vice principal.
